Our Assessor is the official who estimates the value of real property within the Town's boundaries. This value is converted into an assessment, which is one component in the computation of real property tax bills. The Town of Richmond is the designated assessing authority for the Town and for the School Districts for property within the Town of Richmond. The Town of Richmond re-assesses every 3 years to reset assessments at 100% of market value.

Visiting the Assessor's Office
When Town Hall is Open, our office is generally staffed between 9am and 3pm weekdays, with Walk-In Office Hours Monday through Wednesday from 10am to 2pm (Except for the 2nd Wednesday of every month).
However as we are part-time and occasional scheduling conflicts do occur, we advise calling ahead to make sure someone will be in the office when you want to visit.
Appointments are encouraged and ensure there's enough time to discuss your topic with the Assessor or Clerk. Appointments are available during normal business hours and on evenings and weekends if needed.

If you arrive and the Assessor's Office is CLOSED, please leave us a note so we can get back to you. Paperwork to be submitted may be left in the small black mailbox on the counter by the Assessor's Office window or given to Town Clerk's Office staff if it's too large to fit in the counter mailbox. Please be sure your current contact information is on any paperwork you submit.
